BEAT Workshop: Q&A with HR expert Allison Venditti (online)

BEAT develops and delivers various initiatives and events aimed at supporting women in our industry. These events cater to women at different stages of their careers, spanning from students and recent graduates to those in intermediate and mid-career stages, as well as more established architects. This approach offers a valuable opportunity for networking and mutual learning, fostering a supportive environment where participants can collaborate and contribute to each other's professional growth. BEAT events are open to all, and importantly, most events are free of charge, offering increased accessibility to participants.

Join us for a workshop aimed at addressing key workplace challenges faced by equity-deserving individuals, parents and caregivers.

How can you better advance your career, especially when faced with barriers like the glass ceiling? What can you expect during a parental leave? As an employer, how can you ensure that compensation and benefits packages are fair and equitable for all employees? How can workplaces better accommodate the needs of working parents and caregivers? How can flexible work arrangements best balance with productivity?

Bring your questions to HR expert and career coach Allison Venditti, founder of Moms at Work and MyParentalLeave.ca. On Thursday, March 28, 2024, BEAT will be hosting a full hour of Q&A with Allison, one of Canada’s leading advocates for working parents.

Allison has over 15 years of experience creating programs, policies, and change for companies and individuals. She has personally worked with over 800 individuals, successfully advocated for pay transparency legislation, and runs Canada’s only comprehensive program to support working parents returning to work successfully from parental leave, with over 200 participants in 18 months.

We will prioritize questions on equity-focused policies, parental leave, and balancing working and caregiving responsibilities. Questions are welcome from employees and prospective employees, employers, and self-employed workshop participants. Registrants will have the opportunity to submit questions online in advance through an emailed link, or live during the session.

This workshop is designed as a complement to the BEAT x Stantec Mix: Reignite Your Career Journey—Leave of Absence Comeback, and can also be attended independently. We welcome attendees from across Canada, and are especially excited to extend the invitation to those in BEA’s sibling chapters!
